So I'm supporting a website on IIS7 using ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider with forms authentication. It is not the default provider though. That is an AspNetSqlMembershipProvider. Occasionally, perhaps once a day users are unable to login due and the error
shown is "LDAP Server is unavailable". The provider itself isn't being referenced I just imagine it's being initialised when the provider collection is accessed. Restarting the app pool usually fixes it and using Directory Services we don't get the issue.
Also other sites in different app pools can continue to function just fine. It also works fine on IIS6. Can anyone offer any ideas as to what I might do?
