i think i got confused with classes and objects in asp. what is the difference of classes and objects? Iknow that classes compile into objects and are define in C# code and that we can have different methods in each class. But what is the main difference

Three-Tier Architecture helps in maintainability and scalability of your website. It mainly splits the Application logic, GUI and the engine layer.
For example, If you r creating a web site, which does the User registration process. In this, retrieving the data from the controls on the page is taken care by the GUI layer, validating the data etc.,
Application Logic, the second layer forms the Database queries and the connection info, and communicating with the engine layer.
Finally, the third layer, engine layer, does the actualy database operation, to insert the data in to the table etc.,
