Hi, I'm looking for a method of sending an email automatically to the person who posted an ad when I activate their ad. Has anyone done this in this starter kit? Thanks

I have not.
However, there is a function in the website that will send an email to the administrator every time
someone posts a new ad. Perhaps you can look at that and get an idea how to achieve your goal.
When my site was new I had that turned on. But now with dozens of ads per day being posted, I
turned it off and I just check the site periodically to approve ads.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I've been trying to adapt that code unsuccessfully. I havent' broken my website. But, I haven't sent any emails yet either. I do use the registration email function as written and it works perfectly to let me know when new people
register and when new ads are posted.

I can see a few places in the original code where the system is sending emails. When someone first registers, then when they post an add and again when someone replies to an ad. All of these work currently, but I can't figure out how to adapt any of them
to send the user an email when I activate (or delete) the ad. Any hints would be appreciated. Bev
