Im using asp.net 3.0, sql, ajax and vb.net
Im currently writing a process engine, and mini cms, (i still consider myself a novice but have a fair amount of experience)
The basic principle is that an admin user creates a process with title, publish date and meta info, and then creates content snippets which are individual steps for a process.
Each step is then related to a process, but the beauty is that the snippets are resuable so content isnt duplicated unlike normal cms' where the info is in a blob this is more for a knowledge base rather than a website type cms solution.
What i would love to be able to do, is query my database, and then create a flow document of the process from the data stored in a diagram so that the engine is a full solution as at the moment the authors use visio and other flow software to write the flow
first, where as they could just create the process in the document and create it from this, however i have no idea where to start with this, so i need some advice on any add ins or ways to do this with standard asp.net.
Is this even possible and if so any ideas or advice please
Thanks for any help

Yes, it is possible to do. In its simplest form it is just step-by-step guide you can represent on separate ASPX-page. As I don't know the exact nature of your process engine and requirements I cannot tell you more what to do. To create just HTML document
you should use ASP.NET controls and query your database. Please ask more specific questions so I can help you :)
