Most times I write a post it will fail! I hit "Post" it tells me that it's "Sorry blah blah". Can't the ASP.NET forum have a way to save a draft of our posts before we post them just like in Gmail? I would appreciate it so much!

is this on the beta forums or the current ones?
I proposed a couple of times in the past to have more hijaxing so that the message itself is being sent via ajax. If it fails then at least you still have the editor available to you with your text without losing it and can try again. Similar to Facebook
Having a draft functionality like gmail sounds nice in theory but it would involve quite some overhead on the servers for all that messaging around, having more hits on the database for temporarily storing data, ... Google has quite a lot of servers and
the capacity to offer as such but these forums run on a limited amount of hardware.

Is in forums.asp.net. Your solution sounds great! I just feel it will make it our lifes a whole lot better since most times we spent a long time writing these posts for them to fail.

We definitely have this suggestion logged and you will see it on the site in the coming months. It will be implemented more in the way Kris is describing -- when you submit your post you will remain on the screen until the site reports back that that post
was received successfully.
However, this sort of failure will be far less likely to happen when we move to the new version of the ASP.NET Forums within the next week. You may want to start using the live beta for posting and see if this alleviates the posting problems you are experiencing:

Following your suggestion I tried the beta version and ran into similar issues. Anyhow, when you guys implement this feature, the one described by Kris, could you post it or something?
