Many members have participated here since long before the Community recognition program was introduced. So all of their posts, replies and answers had not earned any points.
When the Community Recognition program was turned on, the existing members were all awarded 5 points per reply. Some of those replies may not have been answers so would have been valued at 2 points in the new system. Others would have been answers valued
at 10 points in the new system. The 5 point number was a middle of the road value to provide a simple way to recognize all past participation.
