Currently I am having an Asp.net Web application in .Net 3.5 Framework, deployed on IIS 6.0. Obviously we have used Http Modules in our application. The problem is that we are having many entries specifying the message "Http Module is getting Initialized"
Now, I would like to know when does an Http Module get initialized?
I mean is there any specific reason? Also, is there any case of recycling of http module?
Also, is there any way that I can get the name of the Http Module getting initialized.
Please provide me with a solution.. Serious problems with no specific solutions available on Internet.
Thanks in Advance,

If you want make sure that your HttpModule get intialized once and only once just use below code
private static bool HasAppStarted = false;
private readonly static object _syncObject = new object();
public void Init(HttpApplication context)
// Run application StartUp code here
HasAppStarted = true;
There is misconception about Every IHttpModule is initialized at web application start by instatiating and a call to
