I having a problem with trying to configure my application to use an httphandler that help in manipulating images, the handler works for IIS6 configuration and the config file looks like this:
<add verb="*" path="ImageThumbnailer.ashx" type="ImageHandler.Thumbnailer" />
the problem is IIS7 isn't recognising this type of configuration,
the class is saved in the app_code folder and It is just a class called Thumbnailer in the namespace Imagehandler, I want to use ImageThumbnailer.ashx everytime I need to use the handler, any Idea is welcome.
theIIS is configured for classic mode.

with IIS6, the httpHandlers were referenced in the <system.web> <httpHandlers> of the web.config
but with IIS7 the httpHandlers must be referenced in the <system.webServer><handlers> section of the web.config
maybe it's the cause of your problem

Yeah I know that has changed and also I have been scratching my head for over a week and can't get this working, I have checked the server error and I am getting a configurationErrorsException , Message: Could not load type imageHandler.thumbnailer onsystem.web.configuration.
I am thinking about some configuration issues but can't get this working.
Do you know any place where I can find a documentation about configuring an http handler with the code save in a dll or saved in the app_code.

I have actually found out the problem it was on application pool level of my IIS. It is supposed to be set to application pool not the default web address
I hope this help one or two people

U can set it from default address for that u have to add your type in handler mapping tab in iis.
