My dynamic data website works on my local machine. (Win 7/SQL Server 2008)
But when I upload the database and site to my hosting service:
(a) I can see the home page with all the page/table menu links
(b) But when I click on one of the page/table menu links, the website throws a Sever Error.
The exception message says: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user ......
The Source Error points to line 31 in ~\DynamicData\Filters\ForeignKey.ascx.cs which says: " PopulateListControl(DropDownList1);"
1. This code was generated by Dynamic Data.
2. It works fine on my local machine.
Anybody got any clues on why this is happening?

This is the first call that is reaching the DB so it can be the real login failure. Check your connection strings.
Your home page links are coming from your model code, not from the DB.

Yes, "Logic Dictated" that the home page was coming from the model and that the exception was the result of the first call to the database but being new to DD, I wasn't sure.
Anyway, the problem is now fixed. I was using a connection string (given to me by my hosting service) which turned out to be wrong.
Thanks for the info.
