Hi everyone, i'm working in a new project over asp.net 1.1 and i try to access a store procedure over a oracle database using enterprise library 1.1. The problem is that this call to the database is slow (2-3 minutes), i check the same store procedure over
the database and is it respond is fast (2-3 Seconds).
The DBA tolk me that check the access to the database from the application, cause all inside the database is ok (index, etc.)
What can i do, if only when i call from the application is slow?
Thanks for your help.

What are you using for the connection? ODP.NET, etc.
What IIS version are you using?
What operating system are you using?
Can you upgrade to ASP.NET 3.5 or 4.0?
What is the network bandwidth and topology?
Slowness is caused by so many things.

I'm using System.Data.OracleClient dll
My IIS version is 6.0
I'm using windows server 2003
In this momento i can't upgrade to another version of the framework
Well the problem is all other application that are in .net 1.1 are running well, this one is the only one that present problem. In my local computer is the same behavior.

Could you post your Oracle connection code that calls the stored procedure
and also the stored procedure that is being called?

I recommend you that instead of System.Data.OracleClient use ODP.Net.
However difference between performenace should not b this much huge when accessing data in .net. Kindly share your code how you are acccessing data. And What is the total number of rows which you are trying to load?

I change System.Data.OracleClient for ODP.NET i a few tricks (Some index and hints) in the database and the query is faster.
Thanks for all your help.
