How do I make a Sqldatasource perform its InsertCommand with VB.NET? Normally, a control on the web page would call this command, but I want to use it in Code Behind.
The full routine will be to check and see if the sqldatasource is NOT empty then run an UpdateCommand, but if is empty then run an InsertCommand.
Thanks in advance.

I think you can use the Insert() methods of the SDS. But I have a feeling there's more to your question.

I'm just wondering what the code looks like when an user clicks a button that runs the InsertCommand on a .. for example, FormView.
I want that code to be put into a sub routine instead of it happening from a button onclick event.

God, I am so stupid sometimes or old age made my memory go bye bye ..
Thanks for not answering such a simplistic question it would of made me feel even worse.
