In the list.aspx page , Datagridview
I want to disable the links to the child table based on condition ,
let say if filed OrderDate is empty at row in table Orders I want to disable link to
OrderDetailes for that specific row

you have to write the code in RowDataBound event of you DataGridView control.
you cand for order date and can disable the link in this event.

What if I want the control to be parent and child as the same time(textbox2 child for textbox 1 and parent for textbox3)
and one more think what if the parent and the child are from the same control type (textbox Not checkbox and textbox)

Hi Maan, the issue here is that the child must always follow the child in the order that they are created otherwise it wont find the parent when it looks through the list of controls [:(] That sais you can easily wire up an event the othere way once the
child has a referance to the parent simpply by having using an interface that parent implments this way you can cast the parent (as I already do) and get referance to a method to wire up to a change event in the child.
