I hope someone re-considers a few of the UI conventions used in the asp.net forum.
As it is now, the blue text on blue backgrounds and the black text on blue backgrounds make legibility an issue.
The blue gradients used in some headers are also a tad overwhelming; perhaps something more subtle would do. The MS User Interface Guidelines include the statement:
"As a general rule, if a layout element can be eliminated without
harming the effectiveness of the UI, it probably should be."
I took a screenshot of the current version
and then modified the same screenshot to
a more legible version so it's clearer as to what I mean:
Hope this is taken as constructive criticism and not a wild rant.

Thanks for the feedback. We are currently working on a new lightweight design for the ASP.NET Forums, and we are definitely moving a direction close to the screenshot you posted.
