I am trying to do the following:
1- Have the user select a date from a calendar.
2- When that date comes, an email is sent automatically to the user.
3- The web application is on a server.
Does anyone have code in place that does this already. I was referred to the following articles below, would they solve my problem??. This the first time I tackle a problem like this.
which one of the above solutions if they solve my problem is better?

if you have dedicated access to server(i.e. if you can schedule a windows service using windows scheduler) go with msdn article. The other article explains if you do not have access to server for scheduling tasks, .. .how to do it in certain intervals.
The msdn article is straight forward and good one inorder to achieve the functionality.

Thank you for your reply. The user is the one who selects the date from the "Calendar control" to when he wants the email to be sent to him/her, not me who is going to schedule a windows service using the windows scheduler. So basically the user will click
on the "calendar control" select one date or MORE for the email to be sent to him/her on those days. Do you still believe that article is the right one?? I am sorry I just want to make myself clear. Thank you again.
