"Who is online" is a good feature. But, i want to be anonymous on the "who is online" page. How can i do this? I just want to protect my privacy and am curious how to do it.

As a guest you can always be anonymous and online(See this forum). But as a user how can it be possible? Because there enters Authentication and Authorization rules that restricts anonymity. Best of luck.

You can sign out and wander around as a guest. On the other hand I'm curious as to why you would like to be anonymous.

I feel I am kind of stalked by a few colleagues and I want to avoid being noticed. Colleagues can see which post I am viewing and some of them come to me and ask me similar questions. So, I am kind of feeling bad .. :) though it is in a ligter note ..

What's bad about it? Viewing some post doesn't mean you know the answer.. So if you are asked similar questions then just be honest. If you know the answer to the question tell them or if you don't then tell them.. That simple and there's nothing wrong about

Frankly that says more about your colleagues. Anyway, you can simply sign out and navigate the forums as a guest. If you want to contribute you can sign in again.
Actually it's the first time in 8 years that I've been around that I've seen this type of question.

Maybe, i am a bit paranoid, that is all. But, maybe, it will be a good idea to protect our privacy, if someone is playing some pranks :) ?? Wild thinking.. ??

Playing pranks in a technical community :) , that is not a very good idea.
You are better off logging off and viewing the posts as a guests or may be you should have created a user id without your name or for that sake you should'nt have shared your username with your collegues.

You can try editing your profile, and under Site Options change the "Display in Members List"" to No, and see if that makes a difference.

"Display in Members List"
Terri,I think the mentioned profile setting has no effect on "Who's online" page. But it affects the
members and "Top answerers" pages.

Wondering what you exactly meant by that. How do your colleagues know that
"vijayst" is you and not me unless they know it's your username.
Just start posting under different "username" and keep it private. Oh and the "avatar" as well if it is "gravatar".
