I am currently deploying an asp.net 4.0 app and all is going as planned. We recently had a request to make this apps available to mobile phone users. These users can see the webcontent as they would if they were using a PC.
I would like to make these apps/websites compatible with mobile phone browsers.
What should be the standard for developing my sites to be mobile friendly?
Range of mobile devices:
- BlackBerry v4 +
- iPhone 3,3g,4
- Windows Mobile Phones

You can do following
1) Use standard ASP.NET Website with ASP.NET webforms
2) Define the content and layout that you want to display on mobile browser
3) Keep simple HTML structure for mobile web pages that you are designing
4) Integrate a detection which monitors request source. If the request is coming from mobile than redirect user to mobile optimized web pages that you have designed. You can use below API to make this happen easily without changing any of your existing pages.
Have a try you will find it very useful for mobile web development.
