I wonder how to limit a number of records in FK filter in DD4?
The approach described in
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rickandy/archive/2008/09/25/tweaking-the-filter-repeater.aspx?wa=wsignin1.0&CommentPosted=true#commentmessage is a little out of date but nevertheless it populates data first and then hides/shows the filter based on # of items in
In my case I have a huge table (> 1,000,000 records) with 2 FKs to itself and a few FKs to other huge tables so when I open a page to view this data DD4 tries to populate all filters and thus causing problems with memory. Any ideas how to limit # of records
in the filter without populating it?

How many filters are causing this issue?
if it is just a few I would use a version of the ols AutoComplete Filter from the old Future project here
Dynamic Data Futures VS2008 SP1 RTM I did an FK field based on this here also
An Advanced FieldTemplate these would not require much fixing up to work with DD4, and a little more to work with EF.

In this particular case there are two filters to the same table cause the issue. Thanks for advice, I'll look into the Autocomplete filter.
Out of my curiousity, is something left unimplemeted in DD4 from DD Futures? Is there DD Future (or similar) for DD4?
Maybe, two more questions:
1. How to disable a particulat filter from displaying (ideally, via DataAnnotation)?
2. How to get count from QueryableFilterUserControl.Column.ParentTable?

There are many things that appeared in the futures that never go into the preview or release [:(] but you can't do everything can you, I think what they added was cool and it's easy to implement some cool stuff with what they have done [:)]
