I just created a web application project with VS 2008. The check box for create directory for solution was checked when I created it. I want to add another project to the solution. I want to add a class library project for my code.
I've done this before and it was very easy. I right clicked on the solution and chose add new item, then chose class library project.
I don't have this option now. When I right click on it I can't add another project. In fact, there doesn't look to be a solution to right click on. There is normally a solution at the top of the solution explorer that I can right click on. There is
also a add new solution folder normally but not now. I'm just right clicking on the project and choose add new item I get the regular options such as class, webform, web content form but no option for new project.
Why can't I add a new project to this? Why doesn't the solution show up in the solution explorer when i chose create directory for solution?

first of all Add an empty solution, then add first project, once you added first project, to add second project you can go to File >> Add new project
thus you will get all your projects with in one solution
