Is it possible to have a view as a Datasource instead of a Table? I already have a Filter but the Filter does not give the functionality the Users are asking for.
Assuming you have an Items table and an ItemDispositionType column. The Users want TWO sepate pages. One where the Items are not disposed (ItemDispositionType is null). There is no need to display a filter here because the view should already take care of
The second page has all the items that have been disposed of (ItemDispositionType is NOT null). On this page, they want a Filter which will further filter the disposed Items. The selection would be like (retired, sold, stolen, lost).
The Items table is related to the DispositionTypes Table via the ItemDispositionType column.
No, the users do not a cascading filter. They want two separate pages.

I've figured it out!
First let the wizard create the template for you using tables. Then replace the tables with views as tghe source.
That's it. All of the auto-generated code works.
