We are developing an Asp.net web application for client .
In this project client wants few modules to be accessed via iphone also.How can we do that?
Do we need to develop separate iphone compatible modules or can we extend the functionality of existing asp.net web application to work with iPhone also.
Please help me out.
Thanks in advance,

First you will have to determine whether the visitor to your web site is an iPhone or not. That you can do by looking at the UserAgent:
bool iphone = (Request.UserAgent.ToString().ToLower()).Contains("iphone");
If it then turn out to be an iPhone user, then you can create a special set of web pages, or a specific master page that will use a iPhone specific stylesheet (the Safari browser on the iPhone can do many things for you regarding how your content fit on
the iPhone's screen, to have the buttons and lists look like a standard iPhone application etc. For more information on how to do this, have a look at the developer area on apple.com.

You can do following
1) Define what content you want to display on IPHONE
2) Make different set of web pages which are optimized for IPHONE
3) Integrate a detection which monitors request source. If the request if coming from IPHONE that redirect user to IPHONE optimized web pages that you have designed. You can use below API to make this happen easily without changing any of your existing pages.
4) The above 51Degrees.mobi api will also give you capabilities of IPHONE which you can use to customize your webpages on the fly for best output.
Have a try you will find it very useful for mobile web development.
