We have production web sites that have been running for months with no problems.
All of sudden we are seeing compile errors on these web sites, with no code or config changes in our applications.
The symptom is that the compiler SOMETIMES generates errors such as:
ASPNET: Make sure that the class defined in this code file matches the 'inherits' attribute, and that it extends the correct base class (e.g. Page or UserControl).
If we re-start the app pool this error goes away (most of the time).
Has something changed in .net configuration recently via a patch that could cause this?
Could system wide changes (these are on shared hosting) be preventing the site from compiling correctly?

This seems to be the same message but I'll repost my reply:
This happned to me the other day (Very similar). Anyway it turned out that I had renamed one of my forms and I had to go back and fix the inherits on the first line of the source code and the Partial Class in the Code Behind to be exactly the same. Also
check the Code File on the first line of the Source to make sure it's pulling the right code behind.
