I am developing an application which clients will be using to post files to. They will be writing the file contents to request body which will be submitted to the server using POST method. My application is not expected to have any webpage which the client
will access. Requests will be managed by a custom Httphandler. I have created a handler. The issue faced now is that I am unable to use POST verb. The server responds with a message
The remote server returned an error: (405) Method Not Allowed.
Any assistance is highly appreciated

In the configuration have you set the verb for post or only for get?

Below is the section
<add verb="*" path="*.*" type="IDXFileService.IDXHttpHandler"/>
Still no luck. I am working on a dirty solution where I have to add an aspx page(As I mentioned , this is not desired though).
Previously I was trying a POST to the URL as given below
It resulted in the error as I mentioned
Now I have added an aspx page and a POST done to the aspx page hits the handler. Dirty solution though

I think the mistake was that I was requesting a web directory with POST keyword which IIS might not support(makes sense)
