I want to work with a word document in ASP.NET 2.0 and without the word automation tool(Word Interop) because of the security reason. Is there any other work around to replace a text in the word document with some user value. I have tried to convert the
document into xml format but while converting it's giving me error.
Is saving the document in the SQL server db and then working with it a good idea.
asp.net 2.0 C#
ASP.net C# Object Reference
asp.net 2.0 using C#
ASP.NET 2.0 C#

If you don't want to user Word Interop, you can use third party tool. I don't thing, you can do it without any controls (microsoft or third-party).
Word document is binary format file. You can't parse it into xml. you can save it to DB into varbinary column, but you can't work with this column like with text column.
