I always receive the above message whenever trying to change a passord.
An example: Original pwd: trainPwd1234 New pwd: crack1234.
Can someone give me an answer why this fails? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Here is the membership section from web.config.
System.Web, Version=18.104.22.168, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a"
passwordAttemptWindow="10" minRequiredPasswordLength="8" minRequiredNonalphanumericCharacters="0"

Either your original password is incorrect...
Or you havent met the requirements for the new password.
I dont know if setting the passwordStrengthRegularExpression to ="" is causing problems? If you dont use it just remove it.

Thanks for the reply, Harry. I'll try testing without
The original password triggers the change password control to appear. I then enter it again in that.
The two entries in the web.config that specify the requirements are as follows:
example original passord: trainPwd1234
example changed password: crack1234
I can't see why they don't meet the requirements?

FYI, removing passwordStrengthRegularExpression="did not fix the problem. BTW, the aspnet tables are set up correctly; there is only one application id. Obviously, the UserName
and Id are valid or I wouldn't get the change passord control to show.
Any other suggestions? I've micro-examined the web.config and db tables and can't think of anything else to try at this point.

I found my problem. The user wasn't authorized yet. So, I had to fix that. Thanks again for your help.

I prefer to keep all my admin stuff inside a separate folder so I can just lock down the entire folder and then forget about individual page permissions...
