We've got shortly a couple of errors during the backup of the provisioning systems in our environment (HMC 4.5 with RU2).
The software was claiming not being able to backup a registry for MPS server because of one of the keys.
And really, the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Provisioning\Engine\Namespace Cache has a size of over 4 MB.
Does anybody have an idea if it's a normal state for HMC? Or do we have to expect some impact?
What is generally the role of the key? Can the size be decreased some way?

You can stop the MPS COM. Rename the registry key and then restart it and make a few call to it. It is a cache and it should recache. If the size is smaller and everything is working well, then just delete the old one.

Thanks for advice.
I'll try it on the MPS server in test environment.
