Currently I'm getting 404 errors on about 80% of the POST data requests I make (searches, trying to reply or make new posts). Thought I'd let you know (if this gets through)

I can confirm that I am having similar issues. Many links also display a pop up error message and fail. Refreshing the page allows you to continue and click the item. Seems to happen in IE more.

I've been using the forums quite a lot lately and haven't encountered these mentioned issues while I'm using IE8. Which browser and OS are you guys using?

I'm on vista, fully patched and SPed up and IE 8. When I posted that, I could search at all, every search submission came back with an error, and I was losing a good 50% of message posting attempts to errors.

Just got it again, searching from the search box at the top of the page, next to the forums tab - just thought I'd log it now so there's a timestamp.
It the standard 404 page:-

Just got a stackload of 404s, searching, trying to load the ASP.NET MVC forum thread list by clicking on the link under a post in My Discussions, trying to load this thread again to post the errors notifications to it and als trying to create this reply
- it's taken me about 3 mins to get this thread successfully loaded and this reply screen up

Im using FireFox 3.6 on Windows 7 fully patched and no issue, but as I mentioned it seems to be an issue when using IE8.

We are definitely having problems with the Forums search. The server that the service is running on is has been running pretty hot recently, and generating a lot of timeouts, and we've been unable to beat it into submission.
However, this should not have an effect on the functionality of other areas of the site. I suspect that our web nodes are being marked unhealthy when they should not be. We'll look into this and I apologize for the inconvenience.
