I am working on web application reads data which is fixed.
BookID BookName BookAbr BookType Author
1 Book1 B1 X Author1
2 Book2 B2 Y Author2
3 Book3 B3 Z Author3
I have more than 10 table matrix whic are fixed and linked to each other.
user can access it and change it. The changed data is stored under user preferences. My fixed data remains unchanged. Here i am confused. I have 2 options. I can create the array of my fixed data and create DLL or i can create SQL database tables which holds
my data. What is the bset option? Which one is efficient to handle maximum user request?

From scalability and user load point of view using sql server would be the best option.

According to my knowledge compiled assembiles created from code behind are efficient to run on server side and randor the page faster. If I use sql server i have to use table adaptors.
What i tried to get is how either of my choice handled by web application and how efficient back end (compiled assembly and sql server) communicates. Because i may have more than 1000 users at a time ccessing data.
It will be good if you can explain bit more.

Of Course by the point of view of scalability SQL Server will be the best option. Now the point is performance.
So to increase the performance you can create the usercontrol for those table data and can use the cacheing to reduce the round trip to access SQL Server.
