I have had much dificulties to setup ASP.NET Ajax, moreover in the specific case of
I believe the information are so fragmented. I can't found a clear tutorial that contains
the steps in a clear manner. So, after a hard work, I could to do something and advance a litle.
However, until now, HTML Editor seems running OK in Internet Explorer, but
not OK in Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome. The buttons stay locked (disabled) and is dificult to get focus to the component (only with many TAB's) to write text without change color, font, size etc.
After getting access to instructions at http://www.asp.net/ajax/documentation/live/ConfiguringASPNETAJAX.aspx, I learned some about important things on configuration of ASP.NET Ajax, specially about WEB.CONFIG, mainly on differences of configuration in new
and existent sites. I hope to find more and updated information at http://msdn.microsoft.com/pt-br/library/bb398822.aspx.
I recommend someone in trouble to go there, but pay attention: the assemblies and others are out of date.
It's a good idea to get the actual configuration from a new created site that is updated.
I also had to discover, after a long time, that ToolkitScriptManager must be used, not
ScriptManager. But I dont know exactly why.
I couldn't find a compreensive documentation about HTML Editor Properties. It is possible the same problem in other components.
I want very much to use the ASP.NET AJAX Toolkit, but I need to know about more clear documentation if there is one. If not, please, take my experience like a suggestion to produce one.
I'll appreceiate so much some help. I'm using Delphi Prism with Visual Studio 2008 (Express) and
Windows XP Professional.
Thanks a lot.
