Why doesn't microsoft supply an up to date learning center for ASP.NET?
Their tutorial videos are from framework 2.0. I understand it has some of the basics but....
its been about 5 years now. They do supply random videos that are current however
they do not teach you how to construct an entire real world application.

What do you mean by "to construct an entire real world application."?
IMHO, even in formal class, there isn't a course to fully teach / show how "to construct an entire real world application."
To construct an entire real world application,
you have to have a good understanding of the base technique, concept etc.
What was provided in www.asp.net might be a little bit offdated,
but it really cover most of the important base "to construct an entire real world application."
Even they have a fully functioning sample in the "Starter Kit"
Try to download the project and take a look on how they do it.

Help is coming!
We are working on reorganizing some of the learning content, and Microsoft is working on more end to end tutorials/content for both Web Forms and MVC. You will see these updates in the coming weeks.

They never have and never will construct real world examples. Take MSDN for example.
The programmer is responsible for taking a business model and building the application. If you're unable to build a real world application, go take a programming fundamentals course.
