Hi, I am currently using VS2008 SP1, working on an ASP.Net project.
The project was in 2.0, during first time I run it in VS2008, wizard asked me if I want to upgrade to v3.5, I clicked no.
Later on in the project's property page, I set the 'Target Framework' to v3.5.
However, when I add this code to my project,
Response.Write("The .NET version is " + System.Environment.Version.ToString());
it returns "2.0.50727.4927"
upgrade 2.0 to 3.5

Even though you are using .Net framework 3.5 version the Asp.Net version (System.Environment.Version.ToString()) will be displayed as 2.0... etc.
You can cross check this in IIS Asp.net tab you will find the Asp.net version.The reason is both 3.0 as well as 3.5 use CLR of version 2.0.Following article will make it more clear for you:
