I posted this on MSDN's site and was told to post my questions here. I’m new to programming but I have created a Windows Form program that pulls information from a user’s profile. I have spent days searching for code or examples and I’ve hit a road block.
The server has server hidden shares and the user’s home folder is based on their userID. Can someone point me in the right direction, provide some example code for me to analyze or tell me which .NET classes/methods I should use to get the full path?
Example of how the user’s 'Connected' home folder is listed in their AD profile: \\servername\home
Example Shares on server:
A-F stored on home1$
G-K stored on home2$
L-Q stored on home3$
Example of shared path: \\servername\home1$\userid
Example of folder path: \\servername\home1\users\userid
Please let me know if you need anymore information.
Thanks for your help!
