You can use HttpWebReqest and HttpWebResponse found under System.Net
you need to pass appropriate parameters of the page which you are crawling using code behind.

Sure it's possible but the user should at least log in once, then you give the user a persistent cookie (persistent means it can exist for a longer time, you specify the time when you do the coding).
Using persistent cookies is good but eventually the user will have to log in again (when the user changes the PC, when the PC cookies are deleted...etc).
Hope this helps

The only thing I can think of is to use a tool, maybe like the microsoft web stress tool and record the vbscript generated by the tool when accesing the web page you are trying to log in and then fire that vbscript when you need to automatically log in.
Hope this helps!
Happy new year.

There is no way to automatically login to someone else's web site without their permission, if that is what you are trying to do. You'd have to contact the web site owner and they would need to give you how to do it. There is no other way.

Actually the whole concerned logics revolves around HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse Objcet..
If you are particular about yahoo check their released mail API (http://developer.yahoo.com/mail/) to ease the work..
In other scenarios your HttpWebRequest need to be attached with the post data (email,password,<viewstate if asp.net application>)
Simply put you send your login page request with post data ,after you get ResponseCode 200 you have a cookie allotted by remote website to be posted along with subsequent requests..
Asp.net auto login

I log onto yahoo mail using javascipt, change the x's and y's to your username / password and replace the z' with your challenge...maybe this will help you migrate the code to C#
<form method="post" action="https://login.yahoo.com/config/login?" name="login_form" onsubmit="return hash2(this)">
<input type="hidden" name=".tries" value="1" />
<input type="hidden" name=".src" value="ym" />
<input type="hidden" name=".intl" value="us" />
<input type="hidden" name=".u" value="756d6m55mue4l" />
<input type="hidden" name=".v" value="0" />
<input type="hidden" name=".challenge" value="zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" />
<input type="hidden" name="hasMsgr" value="0" />
<input type="hidden" name=".chkP" value="Y" />
<input type="hidden" name=".done" value="http://mail.yahoo.com" />
<input type="hidden" name=".pd" value="ym_ver=0&c=&ivt=&sg=" />
<input name="login" id="username" value="xxxxxxxxxx" type="hidden" />
<input name="passwd" id="passwd" value="yyyyyyyy" type="hidden" />
<input type="submit" id=".save" name=".save" value="Yahoo Mail" />

I'm curious to know if you got solution for your problem. I'm stuck with similar issue.
In our work place one has to visit 38 Websites every month to download uploaded(data) files from our network resources.
We've username and password for each website.
1. Logon to the site
2. login with username and password
3. download files
4. save to local folder
5.close window once download is completed.
Imagine one is doing all 5 steps 38 times for all different websites.
We are automating most of the process in office and data collection is also part of it.
So I thought i'll automate this download process in our website so that we can skip
steps 1. & 2. and directly go for step 3. downlaod files.
I'm looking for a webservice or a source code
that will accept url, username, pwd and take me directly to Step 3. Please post your solution, tip, link , source code if you found one.
