I installed a new toolbox tab for Ajax Toolkit, but the Ajax Toolkit tab was removed
after I restarted VS 2008 next day. Now I find out that the reason may be because
my VS 2008 re-start from the first time installation. Why?
How can I fix the problem, so that the VS 2008 does not start as the first time installation? Thanks.

Attached is link for ajax-video that walks through the install process.
I had same problem where the toolkit would drop but the video helped.

Thanks. I have viewed the video before. I think I need to fix the VS atart-up problem.
Aftre I installed VS 2008 to replace VS 2005, I did notice it took a long time to open
my VS 2008 every morning. I thought it was because VS 2008 is too complicated for
Now I kind of realized that the problem is it starts all over again as the first time software
installation. How can I change the configuration, so that it re-starts immediatley every

The "configuring the environment for first time use" problem for my VS 2008 may be because
I have a VS 2005 for SQL Server 2005 BIDS. After installing BIDS(Business Intelleigence
Development Studio) for using SQL Server 2005 SSIS, a VS 2005 icon was created automatically.
Later on I found out this icon is my SQL Server 2005 BIDS.
Apparently, now I kind of have 2 VSs and I think that causes the "configuring the environment for
first time use" problem for my VS 2008.

Did you completely un-install the VS 2005 Edition before installing the VS 2008 Edition? If you did not then your problem is associated with that. You must un-install VS 2005, BIDS 2005, and Advanced features, etc.
It should fix the problem. I had the same problem when I updated versions.

Thanks. I installed my VS 2008 to a new workstation. My VS 2005 was created along with the BIDS 2005.
Therefore, the real question is: If I want to keep BISD 2005 for running SQL Server SSIS, how can I change
the VS 2008 configuration, so that it will not always start as the first time?
