My shared webhosting provider provides asp.net 2.0 (and 1.1).
I want to deploy asp.net 2.0 webapps from VS2005 or 2008 to my shared webhosting site (so far, I was using FTP "manually").
Now I received the following answer from my webhoster:
"I am sorry that FrontPage Extensions are no more available because they are obsolete now, as Microsoft itself has cancelled it. Therefore, its license is not available now."
It seems that I am also obsolete.
What are current options to deply webapps from Visual Studio 2005 and 2008?
I googled a little but that took too much time and too old options (which I already knew).
This seems to be quite common problem and I ask your time to share me with your exp, links and knowledge.

The easiest way is right click on your web application and select publish. You can then just give it the ftp url your hosting comany provided, you will be prompted for a username and password but other than that, the rest should be done for you. The IDE
also store the publish details in an xml file and this makes it very simple to publish again because you do not have to enter the url.
