I need advice about fuzzy lookup implementation.
There's a task - to look up fuzzy matches in large database by input words. There should be ability to get the matches and the metrics
(distance). I realyze it's a pretty tough task. So, there's a couple of questions:
Is there any sense to implement it myself?
Are there any ready-to-use tools or utilities?

You have posted this to the Access database forum, so I assume you are talking about fuzzy searching an Access database? If that's the case, there are no tools to do what you want. You will have to implement it yourself. However, I suspect that performance
will be a major issue.

Mike, thanks a lot!
Unfortunatly, it seems to be wrong place for posting such questions... My question doesn't relate to MS Access. But I was directed here from msdn forums from "where is the best forum for..."
My question is concerned to the fuzzy search in sql server 2005 database.
I realize it is quite complicated task to implement. So, I wanted to hear the opinion of experienced developers and maybe mathematicians. Is there a sense to implement fuzzy search myself?
ps If there's a better place for posting my question, please correct me

If I was asking this question, I'd start here:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/category/sqlserver/. There's even a Search subforum there...
