If you are using the server DNS then I think you may have problems connecting remotely but, you can use the server's IP instead.

Thanks for the reply.
I did tried all the above links but no help, i am getting the error sql exception. Are there any settings on my device. do i need to configure the IP's on my device?

I did all the above steps but still no luck i am getting the same exception. I am trying to connect it from my windows ce 5.0 device to my laptop which is connected with Wi-Fi (Wireless Network).

I did it by adding the port number 1433 in my connection string.
