Those of you who are using ADO.NET Entity Data model or edmx file (L2E=Linq to Entities) in place of Linq to SQL (L2S), you probably could be using MS SQL server or any other database which supports LInQ. Currently there are many vendors like Oracle and
DB2 (LUW9.7) supporting LInQ but you may have to use EDMX file instead of DBML file in your solution.
While debuging a L2S program you had Scott Gu's Linq to SQL debug Visualizer [http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2007/07/31/linq-to-sql-debug-visualizer.aspx]
which was quite helpful to view the native SQL and Linq expression and also view the result.
But in case of L2E there was no equivalent tool until now for few simple reasons like L2E visualizer should be able to connect to any database, etc.
There is a tool "RV's LInQ to Entity debug Visualizer" which is a free addon to Visual studio meeting this request. You may download it free through [http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/99468ece-689b-481c-868c-19e00e0a4e69]
Let me know if this Visual Studio addin is usefull for you and what you expect more out of this addon. Let other users know the database you used it with.
