devenv command can be setup to open only one version of vs at a time. So u can go through the below link to change the devenv registry ...

Why you don't use windos shorcuts ???
Just go the all programs , and navigate to the visual studio version that you want , then right click on the VS icon in that location and select "Send to Desktop (create shorcut) ".This will createa shorcut for that icon which you can then rename it as you
like (e.g "VS 2005").
You can then copy or move that shorcut wherever you want.
You have another option in windows which is to use "Pin to start menu" option.

Here you go >
create > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\devenv5.exe
& point it to > C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe
then from start > run > devenv5 will open vs2005
& start > run > devenv will open vs2008
