I'd like to know the way to go forward with respect to ASP.NET data access, keeping in mind the upcoming features in VS2010/.NET 4.0. Should we go with DD or would it be better to go with MVC?

like mostly, it depends. Both are technologies based on ASP.NET and have their right of existence. DD is great for quickly setting up a full blown crud site which you can customize, MVC is great when you think about TDD.
First of yourself: what's the project that I want to create, based on criteria you can measure you can make a choice. It doesn't mean that you always have to stick with one technology but it could well be that 1 project's best made with normal ASP.NET, another
with DD and yet another with MVC.

before one week i develop our apps in asp.net but now i learn Asp.net MVC i waste first three days for it's introduction
in asp.net you do your work better but in MVC you do better & your code clean too
asp.net is simple so
learn asp.net MVC
this is best for code clean & better use of asp.net
