Can anybody explain, what is the relation and relevance co-ordination between webhosting and domain registration. Is it mandatory to purchase both in single company? Because I already purchased some domains in one company which is not providing windows hosting.
That’s way I chosen another company for webhosting. Is it mandatory to transfer all my domains to that company where I purchased the web space?
I am really confused in these processes.
So please guide me with appropriate information.
What are best methods for this process?
Why we need to transfer our domains to another company?
Thanks and Regards,

You could purchase
domain names from one company (domain name register or hosting provider) and to host your website to another hosting company. You should just set the correct domain A records pointing to your web server IP address.

No. A domain and DNS registration is a separate function from web hosting. You can use any service for either one. Keep in mind that your web host won't help you configure your DNS if it's not on their systems.

You can register a domain name with a domain registrar such as Network Solutions, GoDaddy, Register.com, etc and host your web site elsewhere. To be honest, it is better to register your domain name with a domain registrar because they provide tools that
will allow you to better manage your domain name.
If you wish to host your web site at a provider that is not your domain registrar, you would simply sign up at that host, using your domain name, and then you simply need to update the DNS of your domain name to point to the name servers of your web host.
After you have uploaded your web site files to the servers of your new host and the DNS information has propagated across the Internet, then you web site will be going through the web servers of your web host.
As a web host, we host thousands of customers who have their domain name registered at their own domain registrar but they use us to host the web site of their domain name as they simply have pointed the DNS of their domain name to our name servers.

In general never register your domain name with your host and under no circumstances have your host register the domain name on your behalf. Split up the services so you can't be held for ransom or charged fees for wanted to shift hosts etc.
