I've been trying to enlarge the ad description field with no luck. Does anyone know where to find MaxLimit? It seems like that could be the problem. Alternatively, I noticed the field type is ntext in the data base. Could this be the problem? Has anyone
successfully increased the size of the ad description field? Thanks

If you want the field to look bigger then that's a css/themes issue
However if you want the amount of content to be more check postad.aspx.vb and editad.aspx.vb (or c) you will find they are limited to 500 characters (i have never tested this) - but this where you might have to make some changes - there may also be other
areas you need to change - use find from the edit menu
ntext is ok - try not to just start making changes to database tables as the knock on effects are considerable unless you are conversant with the database structure and the BLL/DAL files

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I did change the postad.vb to 1500 characters, but my ads continue to truncate description at the same place. I wonder if the reference a few lines down from there to MaxLimit might be what I should actually change, but could
find no other reference to MaxLimit in the website (used find).
Here's the code
The data base is type ntext and the quantity is 16. I actually tried to change it to 32 (thinking I might be doubling it) and the change would not take. I did not get any error message, but the field would not change. Probably for the best, as you said.
Still trying to convince my advertisers they really don't need to say so much about their aircraft and looking for a way to accomodate the longer descriptions they want. Thanks.
