I successfully created a wonderful test site with Dynamic Data to manage a database of contacts.
I am now trying to add the feature of a search textbox where the user can insert part of the name of the contact and have the result.
I don't think Dynamic Data has it by design, i saw something regarding Dynamic Data Futures and the project on codeplex
But all of them seems to me something that is changing the sourcecode of dynamic data, preventing me to use the future vanilla versions.
What is the best way of implementing that kind of search functionality in Dynamic Data?
All the references I found seems or beta or old things.
Thanks in advance,

Very good questions. With the .NET Framework 3.5 you don't have much of an option if you want decent filtering/sorting than to use the option outlined, and yes that involves changing the source code. Mind you the changes indicated are minor and you should
be able to keep track of them. I have successfully used Josh Heyse's implementation and it works great. Having said that, the Dynamic Data in the .NET Framework 4 is much, much more and if you can wait, or can start working with that now, I think you're in
for a treat.
