I am in a situation where some people who are not in the same network(or Domain) have to access our server "ABCD" in "Domain1".
When they click the link to the server's web page, they are asked to enter their credentials....
No custom code involved so far. This is how it is supposed to work when you try to access across domains. The other option is to log-in remotely to the server "ABCD". We don't want everybody to access remotely. Hence they access via the link as I mentioned
above. Now, the problem is the password expires after a certain number of days and when a user tries to access the page, they do not know if the password expired or not. If you remotely log-in, you are prompted to enter a new password. That doesn't happen
automatically when accessed via the browser. How can I code to make sure the dialog box picks it up from there ? I see all the code about Active Directory programming but I'm not sure if that'll work here. Even if I create a web interface for the users to
be able to change or reset passwords, to be able to get to that web page they should still log-in right. The best way to do is to pick from the same dialog which prompts for user credentials...but I dont know how to make that connection...does anybody have
an idea how to accomplish this ?
Please let me know if I am not clear...I can post some screenshots to help understand.
