I'm trying to run the installsqlstate.sql file on a server I have hosted on godaddy. However, when I open the script in the query analyzer and hit execute, I get the following error message:
"Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'ASPState'. No entry found with that name. Make sure that the name is entered correctly"
Do I need to change something in the file to make it work?

Have you checked that it is asp.net 2.0 or higher hosting?
And that it is turned on?
I found this thread which indicates you dont have to run any scripts beforehand:
I found this which tells you how to do it via commandline but I guess you dont have that level of access:
The tutorials I have seen seem to be orientated towards asp.net 1.0, I am wondering if there is a newer way to do this now?

I have ASP.NET 2.0 hosting. And yeah, I wish I had commandline access, but they don't give us that. If you have any other ideas, let me know!

If I recall correctly, my fellow developer had to go through the same process. I believe the way he had to go about it was to set the database up locally (install ASP Memebership, etc), then upload the configured database. Its just a limitation of GoDaddy.

what are the limitation of Godaddy ASP.NET web hosting plans? Have you double check on your applications scripts and codes on installing the SQLstate? Please make sure also your web hosting plans are compatible with the sql server types with your applications
Here is another tutorials regarding on installsqlstate.sql --> http://idunno.org/articles/277.aspx

You have web hosting server provider and you have the problem... I wonder why don't get in touch with them and try to solve this problem?

I think this is not all his fault on no colsult his hosting provider first. Maybe GoDaddy also cannot help him to solve his current problems now.
tcreynolds, had you solve your installation problems? Please refer to the tutorial that i posted on my previous post, i think that might help you. Can you make sure that your hosting account had what its require for the sql installation?
