i am trying to debug my app on IIS7,vs 2005 on vista and keep getting this error "debugging failed because integrated windows authentication is not enabled iis."
i do NOT have windows authentication enabled,as the error says because:
i am implementing the forms authentication,i have a login page to support this and have annoymous enabled with 'application pool identity" in IIS 7.
my web.config has this line
<forms loginUrl ="/Admin/Login/Default.aspx"></forms>
why wud it won't let me debug the app on iis 7 server using forms authentication?

By integrated security,u mean, granting windows authentication right,i have tried that route..however my question is if i have a login page, does it mean user needs to be logged in using the forms credentials and not the windows authentication credentials
correct? So i DISABLED the windows authentication and expected IIS 7 on vista to respect that without giving me the error and let me debug with FORMS authentication.

in development envoirmnment u have to enable that check box. as u have mentioned forms authentication in web.config. so it will show u login page and will work as expected. that enable check box is only required for debugging.

Note: Your application will authenticate users based on the information entered in your application's login page
but for you to debug the application during development in the development machine you have to
configure your web application to use integrated windows authentication as well
once your application is complete and ready for production then
your can uncheck the Integrated windows authentication check box using the above steps.
Hope this helps
