We are providing hosting at the moment and want to offer Hosted Exchange/OWA as well ; I have a few questions regarding HMC 4.5
Q : What are the requirements of purchasing a HMC control panel from Microsoft ?
Q : We already have the licenses for Windows 2008 ENT/STD, Exchange 2007 ENT/STD etc, would we need to purchase again if we are purchasing HMC from Microsoft?
Q : As it is a control panel developed by Microsoft, does it takes care of Gal Segregation automatically?
Q : Does it provides a interface for our users to administer their organizations/company themselves ?
Q : Pricing : Is it really expensive then the third party ones (Cobweb, ensim etc )
Also, in HMC guidelines everything belongs to different zones in a physical network topology, would HMC recognize that or what is the installation procedure for HMC ? which server it needs to be installed ?
Thank you for reading through my questions, I am really new to this and thus my questions ; I will be greatful if someone could answer the questions so that I can have a better understanding of HMC, Control panel etc.

Hi Crew Messengers,
Thank you for your reply.
Your answers have helped me, can you or someone else here have a look at the following questions as well please :
a) If I were to test deploy the HMC environment, and follow the exact guidelines, will the tool called MPS (Microsoft Provisioning Service) provides the control panel ? I mean how would one go about installing the control panel ?
b) After reading the hmc dock, my understanding is that MPS would be installed and it will then configure active directory and provisioning services, but where would one get the control panel ?
This is my first time with HMC and Microsoft Provisioning services.
Also, is it neccessary to have exactly the same amount of servers in HMC guidelines or can we reduce the amount of servers?

You would need a third party "Interface"-GUI which will act as a full control panel. I belive Microsoft does not give an Interface with full options. The control panel nterface that you get by default can only perform basic tasks.

You are going to need Billing and management software for your HMC environment because HMC offers only provisioning out of the box whereas for service plans creation, billing and management you need 3rd party UI. We have developed this UI and currently version
4.0 is in market.
MachPanel is HMC 4.0 based hosting software. From
MachSol.com it is one of the most advanced yet affordable Exchange Server control panel system.
MachPanel key features:
MachPanel supports both HMC/MPS and stand-alone exchange server deployments.
