I only have 0.5GB HD space left on drive C but lots of room on other partitions. Does anybody know how I have to configure the installation of VWDED 2008 so that drive C is not or less involved in the installation?...
(the system requirements only mention the necessity of 1.4 GB space but no requirements for a special drive!!!)
I wanne use MySQL with Visual Web Developer Express. So how is this been done?
I do not have to install SQL Server Express then, have I?
Thanks for your tipps, answers and hints!!
Best wishes, Falk

I think you have to install to C:\ drive because it puts the files in the windows folder.
If you only have 0.5gb left on your windows drive then you are going to have to clean up the drive anyway or performance of windows will suffer.
You should go through your program files directory and look for folders that are massive and see if they can be moved to your other directory (for example, plesk would install the email server to c: by default and you might be able to move its message store
to a different drive - all depends on your setup).
To find out the size of a folder just right click it and press properties (or select it and press alt-enter)
Is this a server or your home computer? If you just want .net on your server you dont have to install vwd on it.
You can use MySQL with asp.net but its going to make things harder for you to learn asp.net because there are not so many tutorials covering it.
