Hopefully someone can help me with this. I have been spinning my wheels for two days now. I changes the username and password of my ASPNET account and I am getting server appliation unavailable message when I try to access my website. There are two errors
in the application event viewer they both say the source is ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0 The events are 1084 (error code 80004005 and event 1007 (aspnet_wp.exe could not be launched because the username and/or password supplied in the processModel
section of the config file are invalid.)
This guy had the same issue
I understand that the problem is in the process model of the machine.config file. But, for the life of me I cannot figure out how to edit the machine.config file. It is contained in a .cab file. When I try to open it it forces me to extract it. I extract
it and make my changes and I cannot save it back to the .cab file.
Does anyone one know how I can edit the machine.config file and then get it bac into the .cab file?
Your help is greatly appreciated! I am losing my hair!

I'd try running aspnet_regiis -i
The 1.1 version of this program is usually located here:
The 2.0 version is usually here:
