I installed SQL server 2008, then i installed Visual studio 2008 without installing SQL server express edition livred with it.
Now when i tried to run the ASP.NET configuration to create users, i get an error message :
There is a problem with your selected data store. This can be caused by an invalid server name or credentials, or by insufficient permission. It can also be caused by the role manager feature not being enabled. Click the button below to be redirected
to a page where you can choose a new data store.
The following message may help in diagnosing the problem: Unable to connect to SQL Server database.
How can i fix this issue?

Did you try , aspnet_resql.exe ? you can write aspnet_reqsql.exe on VS command prompt and follow the wizard.

I have already an instance for SQL server, it's MSSQLSERVER, installed when i installed SQL server 2008, and from Vs i can create tables there without any problem,,
The only problem is that when i try to execute the ASP .NET configuration fromthe project tab on VS, i can't connect to the database to create new users and groups etc..
I have the message listed above.
did i have to reinstall SQL server express livred with VS2008, or how can i configure VS to connect to this instance and to display the interface from where i can add users.
