I just finished a clean windows install. I had a virus and this has been a royal nightmare for the last week.
Anyways, I have reinstalled my software and I'm trying to debug in VS, and although I changed my path in SQL management studio, VS gives me this error. I also get the following in the page I'm editing.
Error 1 C:\lefresh11-11-08\LinkExchanger\admin\ViewWebsiteInfo.aspx: ASP.NET runtime error: Could not load file or assembly 'MySql.Data, Version=22.214.171.124072, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=c5687fc88969c44d' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot

How did you install MySql dll origionally. It must have been placed in GAC and you have not installed it after installing windows. If it is so, try installing MySql dll again from origional setup.

Hi. Thanks for your response. I dropped my mySQL.Data.dll file which was on my live site into my local bin folder and then my VS worked. Is that all I need to do? I have unzipped a file called mysql-connector-net-1.0.7-noinstall.zip into a folder. It's
mostly C# files although the msSQL.Data.dll file is in the archive. I can't remember last time if I used anything else from the archive.

There are numerous versions of mysql.net connector, for my recent project i used mysql.net connector 6.0...May be version 1 has lots of files but i used a standalone installer.
Ya it is all about adding the dll file and using the namespace.
